WRITERS PROGRAM

NBC provides funding for a minority staff writer
position for all scripted Primetime Series,
Daytime and Late Night Programming (including
non-NBC Studio produced series). NBC funds a
staff writer position on all new and returning
Primetime Series for up to a total of three
seasons for each minority staff writer so hired.
To be eligible for this program a writer needs
to have the ability to become a member of the
Writers Guild of America, if they are not already
a member. To obtain more information about the
Writers Guild of America you can log onto www.wga.org.
Writers interested in applying for the Minority
Writer Program should contact the applicable
Executive Producer/Show Runner sometime between
the middle of May and the end of June of each
year. This is when shows typically recruit for
their writer positions.
