TAKE OUT
Special discount for ACV members!

TAKE OUT is a day-in-the-life of Ming Ding, an illegal Chinese immigrant working as a deliveryman for a Chinese take-out shop in NYC. Ming is behind with payments on his huge debt to the smugglers who brought him to the US. TAKE OUT follows Ming on his deliveries in the city, in a film that Variety calls "deeply affecting" and "beautiful in unexpected ways". Employing a cast of both professional & nonprofessional actors, and filmed in an actual take-out restaurant during operating hours, directors Sean Baker & Shih-Ching Tsou utilize a cinema vérité style to paint a distinctly human face on the lives of illegal immigrants lost in the shadows of an uncaring city.

Festival Coordinator Mimi Wong hosts the Q&A with filmmakers Sean Baker and Shih-Ching Tsou, and lead actor Charles Jang, following the Sunday, June 8, 2:55PM screening, co-sponsored by ACV.

When: Fri, June 6, 4:40pm, 6:35pm, 8:30pm. Sat, June 7, 6:35pm, 8:30pm.
