Tech Exec/Producer Philip Lam Joins Asian CineVision Board of Directors

NEW YORK (January 18, 2012) – Asian CineVision (ACV) announces that Philip Lam has
joined its board of directors. Lam is a Principal with Hot Studio Inc., a digital design and
technology firm. He is a 20+ year veteran of the information technology and interactive
media industries and has played critical roles in numerous ground-breaking initiatives
involving personalization technology, e-commerce, social media and computer/console
gaming.

In addition, Lam has worked as a producer in the independent film industry. His producer
credits include award-winning full-length narrative feature films UNDOING and SANTA
MESA and a collection of short films THE CHINATOWN FILM PROJECT for the Museum of
Chinese In America. Philip is also a board member of dGenerate Films, a digital distribution
company representing independent film made by filmmakers in China.

ACV is the presenter of the Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) the first
festival in the U.S. to recognize the film and video work by media artists of Asian descent. A
leading showcase for media works by, for or about Asian Americans and the Asian American
experience, AAIFF presents annually one hundred narrative and documentary features,
shorts, panels and workshops, networking mixers. 2012 will mark the festival’s 35th year.

“Phil has been an avid supporter of ACV and the festival for several years,” said Festival
Program Director, Martha Tien. “His broad production experience and connections in the
tech world can only expand our outreach to the APIA film making community and the new
media space. It’s exciting that we can work together in a greater capacity and realize the
potential of a full partnership.”
